Yes, it's the end of August, but October is really just right around the corner and isn't it fun to think about all the ghoulish good treats of Halloween? Well, it's Day Two of sneak peeks for Taylored Expressions Release Week and today I've got a spooky project to share using the new set, Toil & Trouble, plus I'm showing off a new impression plate and die!

to view an image up-close, please click on a photo
Toil & Trouble is a super-cool Halloween decor set designed by the lovely Nancy McKinney and it's full of terrific images perfect for this tricksy holiday. I used elements from the new Spooky Project Pantry, with papers from Echo Park's Apothecary Emporium, to create this gate-fold card. (This month's Project Pantry comes in a Basic Recipe version (papers and ribbon!) and you can now add a Spice It Up kit with very cool embellishments!)

For the inside of the card, I created a little scene, complete with smoky mirror, candelabra, table and creepy skull. Did the Spooky Fence Taylored Die catch your eye? Stay tuned tomorrow as I show you how you can use it for things other than just Halloween.

In this photo, check out the two side panels of the card, which feature the soon-to-be released Spooky Impression Plate, which is double-sided with a spider web on one side and a splendid harlequin pattern on the other. What I especially love about these plates are the large impression size -- this card is a 5.5 x 5.5 when closed, and I was able to get a terrific embossed image on both panels!

The patterned paper from the Spooky Project Pantry made it easy to create some elegantly creepy wallpaper in my haunted scene and I used the cool web image from Toil & Trouble and fashioned an unusual table-cloth for a table made from some cardstock. A bit of metallic ink over the eyes and candle flames added a bit of ghoulish glow!
