A Bird in the Hand...

The weekend flew by and it's already time to get going for another new week. Luckily I managed to catch a few moments to create a "Just Because" card, well, just because! Sometimes, that's the only reason you need. I used the newest Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge as my jumping off point and this month's Papercrafts Magazine Gallery Challenge: Silhouettes for inspiration.

I actually found this sketch a little challenging, which is always fun (or aggravating) -- this time it was fun. I let the patterned paper guide my colors and sponged around all my edges to give my card a vintage look. I also stitched with some hemp twine for the embellishment elements and added a coordinating flower.

I stamped this pretty bird silhouette from the Embrace Beauty set. I then misted with two colors to mimic those in the paper. I just love the color combo and the silhouette is such an elegant image. I hope you have a lovely week and get to do something wonderful...just because!
