Wish Come True

Today Lifestyle Crafts is releasing its Fall Core Collection of dies and I get to share some projects I created with a few of my favorites! Plus, as an Affiliate, I get to offer readers an exclusive 20% discount code for use in the LC Store (details below.) For today's project, I'm showcasing the new Butterfly Punch Dies and a little peek at the new Nesting Lace Doilies!

My little one LOVES to make wishes on dandelions. When I saw the Butterfly Punches Dies, I recalled a saying that "a butterfly is a caterpillar's wish come true." This inspired this scrapbook page which, normally, would have taken me several hours to make as I would be die-cutting butterflies until the cows came home!
But, with the Punches Dies, I was able to make nine butterflies at a time, which was a huge time saver.

As you can see from the photo above, I actually die-cut butterflies in a solid color first and then adhered butterflies die-cut from patterned paper over those. The end result is a beautiful effect full of color and dimension. The great thing about these dies is that the set includes single butterflies in two sizes, which minimized paper waste when I needed a couple butterflies to round out each color.

To frame the photo of the rugrat, I used one of the new Nesting Lace Doilies (tune in tomorrow for another project using the remaining Lace Doilies in the set!)

This was the perfect way to off-set the photo and draw attention to what would otherwise be lost in a sea of butterflies.
