Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek Day 2: Best Dad Ever

It's Tuesday! I really do enjoy making Father's Day cards because my husband, by dad, and my father-in-law are all such great fathers that it's a pleasure sending them something fun. Today I'm playing along with my friends at Taylored Expressions for their May Release, which includes some great Father's Day items. Today, I'm using the soon-to-be-released (Thursday!) Argyle Cutting Plate.

I wanted to try out a cool new technique that I've been seeing all over the creative-sphere, which is creating inlaid cards using dies. I grabbed the Chunky Alpha alphabet dies to spell out "Best Dad Ever". I thought this one might be a little tricky to do with the Argyle Cutting Plate, but it turned out to be pretty easy to do. I just had to be careful about keeping the little pieces from the negative spaces cut by the letters. To help me out, I cut out the Argyle Cutting plate on just a piece of printer paper to use as a guide. By placing it on top of my Earl Gray die-cut panel, I was able to tape the letters down so that they lined up.

I adhered all the letters that were cut with Salt Water Taffy back into the panel. I added some Wink of Stella to the Blue Corn background to highlight the argyle panel. I had intended this card for my dad, but my husband saw it and said, "That one's for me, right?"

Hope you enjoyed my card today, friends! Tune into the TE Blog for more designer fun and for a chance to win a fun prize!

I'm not sure you could convince me to line up all of those dies - but the look you got is fabulous!
