Life is More Fun in Flipflops: Shaped Cards for Summer

I always think there is something extra special for someone when they get something that's a little quirky or unusual, so I love making shaped cards. For my summertime shape, I decided to create a little flip flop card.

I simply trimmed a shape from the colorful patterned paper from the Childhood Memories collection (I also created a matching brad for the Bitty Blossom flower with my trusty i-Top!) I had some perfect "ready-made" straps made from trimming the striped patterned paper from the Endless Summer collection, which also gave me my chipboard sentiment!

I hope you enjoyed my shaped card. For more shaped card inspiration, please visit the Imaginisce blog!

Black Ice

Good morning, crafty friends! This week, my Imaginisce teammates and I are celebrating the release of the new collection, Black Ice, and it is so gorgeous and pretty! I have three projects to share with you today, so let's get started with this elegant wedding or engagement card I created.

I really love the Invitation Pack cards for Black Ice. They are thick and sturdy, and the designs are simply divine. I was particularly taken by the tree image in the Tree Line invitation and wanted to create a card around it. Using patterned paper from the collection, I matted the trimmed card and created a simple layout, adding some ribbon and an embossed sentiment. For some added elegance, I added some Glam Rocks to the tree with my trusty i-Rock tool.

I wanted to create a wedding card that could also be kept as a keepsake and double as a framed photo. I saw these Z-Fold cards on Pinterest and thought the design would work very well because it will fold flat for mailing. Using the elegant papers, I created the different elements of the card and added a photo from my own wedding (almost 15 years ago!)

The pretty flower in the paper made for a perfect "catch" for the photo, and I cut out the frame from the Striped Invitation Pack card as its base. My husband and I don't actually have any of our wedding photos up around the house, so this card will be a perfect way to display a memento of our perfect day.

The Black Ice collection is so starkly beautiful and I wanted to create a striking thank you card. I used the contrasting patterned papers and stamped a big, bold sentiment. I wanted to create my own floral embellishment, so I used the i-Top and made a brad using the patterned paper and added it to a die-cut flower.

Showered With Love

It is Friday! I'm celebrating an early birthday (it's tomorrow and gasp! I'm one year short of the big four-oh) by making a fun card. I grabbed this month's Stamp of the Month from Taylored Expressions, You Make Me Happy.

This clean and simple card was so much fun to make. I stamped the darling umbrella image onto some pretty patterned paper along with the sentiment that inspired the design. I punched out a pile of little hearts to fill the inverted umbrella with L-O-V-E. Easy-peasy!

Beach Bum...Imaginisce & Tombow Summer Isn't a Bummer Blog Hop!

Welcome! I am so excited to be participating in a fun blog hop with  my Imaginisce teammates. We got to play with some wonderful products from Tombow (makers of my favorite glue, ever!) and create a summer project.

I created a desktop photo frame using a combination of two summery Imaginisce collections, Makin' Waves and Endless Summer. I have had these photos from our last trip to the beach and have been wanting to make a project with them, so this was just perfect! I used the Tombow Mono Adhesive on my die-cut title: the precision tip made adhering the letters so easy!

I was lucky enough to get to play with Dual Brush Pen set in Jellybean. The brush end was so great for adding some shading to my stamped images!

Be Happy! Taylored Expressions June Stamp of the Month Hop!

Happy June! It's a new month, which means a new chance for me to play with the newest Stamp of the Month from Taylored Expressions! This month's set is called You Make Me Happy and it's just darling. Today I got to play along with members of the Baker's Dozen and Key Ingredients team, so come along and hop with us to see this cute set in action.

For my project today, I created a window card to house the paper-pieced umbrella image I created with patterned paper from this month's coordinating Key Ingredients Kit. Isn't it cute?

As always, the Stamp of the Month has a coordinating set of separate dies, and this month's are called Rainy Day. I die-cut the cloud from patterned paper and stamped one of the perfect little sentiments inside it.

I am so excited to share today's card with you today! I got to play along this week with Taylored Expressions for Release Week and feature one of my favorite sets ever, Delightful Day. This set was previously exclusive to subscribers to TE's Key Ingredients kits, but it's now available to everyone. Plus, this time around, there is a set of coordinating dies!
