Grateful For...

My little one is sick this week (we both have the same thing) and so my card-making has slowed to a crawl. I really needed a pick-me-up and so decided to make a card for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge, an interesting mix of Ruby Red, Taken with Teal, and Basic Gray. These colors remind me of the current trend of non-traditional colors for Christmas, but as I am still behind on Thanksgiving cards, I thought I'd mix it up and use the color scheme to play catch up.
For this card, I inked up my Tres Chic** background stamp in Ruby Red and punched out three words that caught my eye: "Life," "Family," and "Love." Appropriate things to be grateful for, yes? With very little time or energy to spare, I kept it clean and simple, with a quick-embossed background and a rub-on to complete my modernly unexpected Thanksgiving card.
BEAN NOTES: (Unless otherwise noted, all materials are Stampin' Up) Tres Chic Background Stamp; Chit-Chat Rub-On; Ruby Red Classic Dye Ink; Ruby Red, Taken with Teal, and Whisper White Cardstock; DCWV Basic Gray Textured Cardstock; 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" Circle Punches; Foam Dimensional Squares (generic) HAPPY BEANS: Quickutz Rings Embossing Folder; Big Shot

Oooh, so pretty! Love how you used the colors and incorporated the Basic Gray! I found it difficult to work with, but you did a terrific job, as always!

Regina,
You're so brave. I religiously stay with the 5.5"x4.25" format. I guess because it's easier to get envelopes. But then I see a card such as yours and it makes me want to break out of the box! Gorgeous job on the challenge!

Brilliant use of the color scheme and use of just punched out parts of the backgrounder stamp!
