BABY...

I love baby cards, mostly because I love babies! Our cousins Katy and Rob just announced that they will be having a baby, due in November, almost to the day of my little one's original due date (my small fry decided to arrive 3 weeks early!) So, to help our cuz'es celebrate their happy news, I decided to make them a card. I started with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, which always gets me going.
For this card, I started with the main focal element and die cut the word "BABY" in So Saffron. Then, I made the moon by die cutting a circle and then running the circle through again with the same die shifted over to create a crescent shape. I stamped the cute baby twice on white and then again on Sage Shadow to paper-piece the little onesie and pop up the sweet face, first coloring with Copic Sketch markers. I punched out some stars and outlined them with a glitter pen. After assembling the card, I carefully applied liquid pearls to the moon and the card base for just a little bit of happy goodness.

By the way, today is the third day of voting in the Gallery Idol 2010 contest! I was lucky enough to have been chosen to be a part of this round, so if you are interested in voting, please visit this blog post to see my entry! There is a lot of talent out there, so you won't want to miss the fun of voting for your favorite -- only the top 15 move on to the next round and I (gulp!) hope I'm one of them! Thanks to everyone who has voted for me so far and for all your amazing support and good wishes!
