Just Like Mommy...

When I saw the color challenge at The Play Date Cafe, I was a little hesitant; gray, orange, and green are definitely not colors I would normally consider putting together! Then, I saw the sketch at the Pals Paper Arts challenge and thought, wow, that's a doozy! Well, since I'm always encouraging my wee one to try things he thinks he can't do, I figured a challenge is a challenge and I went for it! Besides, the V-Day Party over at Paper Issues left me no excuse!

When he saw the patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl, my son pointed at the cute little girl and said, "Oh, look! It's Mommy!" So, I couldn't resist making a V-Day card for him starring, well, me. I used the heart frame from the Kid at Heart set from Taylored Expressions, and cut it out using the coordinating die. I did tweak the sketch a little to suit. I love the heart border die from TE and replaced the cut-out hearts with orange hearts and applied a LOT of Liquid Pearls around all the edges for just a touch of subtle bling.

Oops! Regina, I may have spelled your last name wrong when I nominated you. I knew the right spelling, but sometimes a person's fingers type something else. (That is my story and I am sticking to it. :D)
This is ADORABLE! I think I will have to go over to TE and do a little surfing.
What a great story about your little guy and your color challenge. i am with you, Regina. Those colors would be a serious challenge for me as well.
Hugs, Suzie

Well I bought my first bottle of liquid pearls because of you! You are the master and every time you use them they look gorgeous! I am afraid mine will look like splats instead of pearls :)
