Imaginisce Veteran's & Remembrance Day Hop

Happy Monday! This whole week, we are honoring our men and women in the armed services with a Veteran's Day Blog Hop with Imaginisce! If you've come here from the lovely Diana's blog, you are on the right track and I'm so glad you could join me today so that I can share my project with you.

I wanted to create a card that would demonstrate how very grateful I am to those who sacrifice so much to protect our country. Many, many members of my family have served and are now veterans. One of my favorite Imaginisce products are the lovely Roly-Rosies, but of course I wanted some in patriotic colors, so I decided to make my own using the Petal Roller. Here's how:

Begin with a circle cut from cardstock.
To add texture, use the faux suede technique by crumpling the circle enough so that the edges separate.
Carefully peel the edges apart. You will be left with the "faux suede" on one side of each circle.
Using scissors, trim in a spiral from the outside, in.
Insert the Petal Roller tip into the outside tip of the spiral and begin rolling, tucking the end under the bloom and secure with adhesive.
BEAN NOTES
Patterned Paper: Bon Voyage, Hello Cupcake! Collections (Imaginisce); Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red (Stampin' Up!); Stamps: sentiment (Taylored Expressions), banner (Lawn Fawn); Tools: Petal Roller (Imaginisce)

I hope that I have inspired you to create something to honor and remember those who so proudly serve. Please head back to the Imaginisce Blog for some sneak peeks of today's projects from my design teammates!
