It's Never Too Early for Christmas!

Hey there, crafty friends! I have a couple fun cards to share with you today. I created these for Taylored Expressions, which just released its Christmas collection, and today I'm sharing some of the fab new dies that are here in time to get started on Christmas and holiday projects. Enjoy!

My first card uses dies from my very favorite line from TE -- Build a Scene, as well as a beautiful die from the Eventful line. Plus, a new line that I am most excited about -- Picture Perfect! I created a snowy scene with these dies, along with just two colors of distress ink.

I began by sponging and blending two colors of Distress Inks (Broken China and Chipped Saphire) for my background. Next, I die-cut out Eventful - Night Before Christmas and set it aside. To get the ombre color for the darling little elements from Build a Scene Central Park, I sponged some ink onto cardstock and positioned my dies to easily get the effect without having to sponge on tiny cuts.

The Picture Perfect - Horizontal die set can be used to create beautiful photo cards, but I love how it can be used as a frame for stamped/die-cut backgrounds as well. After die-cutting it out, I sponged some of the Broken China ink on just the tips of the letters to again get an ombre effect. I assembled everything together, gluing everything together before trimming away any excess, then mounted it on a mat and to the cardbase.

My second card makes use of Picture Perfect - Vertical and the new Build a Scene Winter Trees die sets. I also used the new Build a Scene Christmas Collection Matched Kit for my cardstock and patterned paper. I just love the pretty colors. The awesome thing about the patterned paper is that it includes ready-made backgrounds like this one with the lovely stars in the sky.

I die-cut the tree out of TE felt, which I thought was just perfect for a Christmas tree. I wanted to set the tree outside, so I used the new Stitched Circle Stacklets to create a little snowy hill. (I am a huge fan of the stitched dies!) I added a little rhinestone above the tree to really make my star "shine."

Here's a close-up of the word that is set into the die. Talk about a time-saver -- all I need to do is stamp a sentiment on the inside and I'm all done with these two fun and festive cards.

I hope you will visit the Taylored Expressions store to see all the new Christmas products and visit the TE Blog for more inspiration from their amazing design team!
