Spring with Love...

My son's great-grandparents are moving to a nice retirement community. Though it is the right thing for them, I am sure the change will be difficult, and they will miss their old home. I decided to make an 8" x 8" scrapbook page to hang up and brighten up their new digs. Our little guy is their only great-grandson, and they love receiving updates and photos of him as he grows.
Luckily for me, this week's Friday Challenge is a layout challenge! I also found inspiration in Stamping Around's Colour Challenge, so the only thing I needed was a good picture of the rugrat. Now, he is usually ALL-BOY, so I had to go back a little to find a photo of him that would work with my springtime colors. The one I used is a family fave.
For this layout, I wanted the picture to be the focal point of the page, and so I cut it into a circle and framed it with this lovely border sentiment before adding a scallop-circle border. I double-stamped the pretty daisies, colored them with Copics, and then cut out the top layers of each for some dimension. I then worked on the background, keeping it simple with some die-cut scalloped borders. The title was custom-created and stamped in Chocolate Chip. Lastly, I added some bling by way of some gemstones, paper-piercing, and Liquid Pearls. I hope my little page will bring some sunshine to some special people.
