Goodbye, Mr. Wild Rumpus...

Rest in peace, Mr. Sendak.
Thanks for the many hours of happy reading
with our little rugrat.
May you enjoy your last, superb, wild rumpus in the sky.
(and you ROCKED the Colbert Report.)

For my tribute to the late, great Maurice Sendak, I decided to create a card. How lucky for me that Taylored Expressions has this perfectly wonderful image? For a good bit of whimsy, I tore the patterned paper to reveal my colored scene. Some eyelets, canvas rope ribbon, and I could bid this incredible author a fond farewell.

BEAN NOTES
Stamps: The Places You'll Go (Taylored Expressions)
Patterned Paper: Dots & Stripes (Echo Park)

Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento (Tsukineko)
Accents: Eyelets (Making Memories)
Fibers: Canvas Rope Ribbon (Canvas Corp)
Coloring Medium: Sketch Markers (Copic)

I love your card. The way you did the frame of the focal point with the torn paper is just fabulous. I love the rope you used to. It does look nautical.

Awesome card! I love your use of the torn paper "frame"... and I need to get this set out more often.

I didn't realize this was a card until I read the blog. Thought this was a picture & it would look wonderful on my bookshelf. Normally I don't like paper tearing but it really works in this situation.
