Washi Washi Washi!

Today is my very last day on the Design Team for ScrapbookSteals.com (a great place to get scrapbooking supplies) -- it's been a fun and fast 3 months and the design team was challenged to use something really fun...Washi Tape from Love My Tapes!

I have to admit that I was a bit baffled by washi tape. I thought it was a cute idea as something to use when wrapping gifts or sealing envelopes, but then I got to really play with some thanks to ScrapbookSteals. I was lucky to get some colors that seemed perfect for a boy and I had an idea for something I could create for my little guy who is celebrating his fifth birthday next month.

My son is having a reptile-themed birthday (including live reptiles like snakes and lizards) and I think there will be some great photo ops. I wanted to create a little mini album for him as a special memento of his day.

I used the washi tape by alternating the colors across my album cover (super easy to trim, by the way) and it was also a great embellishment to use throughout the pages!

I wanted to make a matching card to go along with the album and the washi was a wonderful way to make them match. (Plus, I found that if I didn't apply it quite to my taste, it was simple to unstick and reapply!)

BEAN NOTES
Accents: Washi Tape (Love My Tapes); Electronic Files: Ribbon Tie Mini Album (Lori Whitlock); Snake shape (Jennifer Wambach); Gecko (Lettering Delights); 5 Card (Loni Harris); Tool: Cameo (Silhouette); Cardstock: all cardstock (Stampin' Up!); Fibers: ribbon (Kate's Paperie)

This is my last project on the Design Team for ScrapbookSteals.com. Thank you so much to Kristy and Brittany at ScrapbookSteals for giving me this amazing opportunity -- but, best of all, thank you for being my friends and for introducing me to Katrina Hunt and Kerys Sharrock, my talented teammates and paper-crazy buddies! Go to the ScrapbookSteals blog and check out their incredible washi creations!
