A Guy Thing...

Moxie Fab is hosting a terrifically fun challenge: Taintor-Tude! The challenge is to make a card inspired by Anne Taintor's tongue-in-cheek creations. These cards and gift items have always made me laugh and I thought I'd give it a whirl. It was a blast, and I can see these types of cards becoming very addictive!
Anne Taintor cards seem to mostly feature the inner-most thoughts and desires of women, but I've noticed that my husband appreciates the humor and wickedness of her designs as much as I do. So, I thought I'd create a card meant for a man, which turned out to be just as fun. The image I chose was from an ad for Seventeen Cosmetics from the year 1947 with the slogan, "For that natural look men look for." I thought it would be perfect for my Taintor-inspired card.
Since this was supposed to be intended for a man, I kept things simple and tried only to pick up a few of the wonderful colors in the image. I actually know the perfect guy to give this to...his girlfriend is a whip-smart attorney and I'm sure she'd appreciate the irony!

Hi Regina,
I have been a fan of Anne Taintor long before I was introduced to stamping. She is wickedly funny! And it's hilarious that you put the male point of view on your card! Can you tell me where you found your vintage advertisement? I'd love to find some.

Thanks for sharing!

Hilarious. When I had my wedding shower (many moons ago), my girlfriends gave me a retro t-shirt that said "married at last . . . now I can get fat."

Hugs, M
