The Colors of Christmas

I love Christmas collections that use bright, pretty colors so when I saw the Colors of Christmas collection from Imaginisce, I was so thrilled! I created two layouts to (finally!) capture some fun Christmas memories from last year.

WIth the holidays fast approaching, I don't have a lot of time to scrap. So for my first layout, I kept things clean and simple. I used the patterned paper for some ready-made borders and pennants, which made things easy. With some of the cute die cuts and shiny jewels from the collection, I had a fresh layout for my son's scrapbook.

The second layout is a bit more involved, though again I let the patterned paper from the collection do the work for me. This was from Christmas day and so I had multiple photos that i wanted to use. The die cuts and jewels helped me out again!

No Peeking!

It is definitely the Christmas season! I know it's a little horrifying that the stores start carrying Christmas products before it's even Thanksgiving, but I love seeing all the decorations. I wanted to get going on creating some fun gift packaging and so I grabbed some new dies from Taylored Expressions.

For this gift bag, I used the new Pockets & Pages - Photo Frame and Label It dies. These dies were designed for pocket scrapbooking, but I could easily use them on a card or, as you see here, on a gift bag! I paired them with images from Christmas Doodles and before long I had a special, merry way to give a gift during my favorite time of year!

Smiles Inside!

Hi happy friends! As you can see, I have been experimenting with my camera. In this case, my phone. I find myself taking photos with whatever is handy, and today it was my iPhone. I did some editing right on there, too on this fun card I made for my Mom-In-Law's birthday.

I got to use the newly released Certified Mail Art by Taylored Expressions. It's a darling set that is meant to decorate envelopes, but I love that I can use it on cards, too. I decided that I could make a card within a card for my super card-making mother-in-law. I used the 3 x 3 inch Scalloped Notecard for the wee card.

On the inside of the little card, I used one of my favorite sets, From Me to You, which was a free with purchase set (though a little birdy told me that this set might be available for purchase in the near future!) I finished off with a bow from Mix & Match Bows another of my have dies!

Thanksgiving with Imaginisce

We're celebrating Thanksgiving at Imaginisce and today I have a quick way to add a little fun to your holiday table.

We always have Thanksgiving at my mother-in-law's house, so I thought I would create some fun place cards for our family dinner. Of course, I had to use the new Bushel of Fall collection, which really helped me because I have been so busy lately (I let the cuteness do the work for me!) With the die-cuts, the gorgeous jewels, and a bit of foam tape, I had some sweet little place holders to spruce up the holiday table!

Be sure to visit the Imaginisce blog for more Thanksgiving inspiration!

Veterans Day with Imaginisce

For me, Veterans Day is a wonderful chance to remember not only the fallen heroes who serve in the military, but also to recognize all those men and women who returned from duty to rebuild their lives and the lives of others in the country they worked so hard to protect and preserve. My father-in-law is a veteran of the U.S. armed forces. My own dad, a naturalized citizen of the U.S., served in the military of his country of origin trying to help protect the fragile democracy of his homeland.

I wanted to create a card honoring Veterans like my father-in-law and my dad, who served to keep freedom alive around the world. I didn't have any traditional red, white, and blue collections handy, so I reached for papers from Good Dog, which is rich with darker colors. After punching out a starry field, I added a die-cut rosette and a wood button from Bushel of Fall.

Be sure to visit the Imaginisce blog for more Veterans Day inspiration from my design teammates!

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peeks -- Happy 6th!

It's Day One of Sneak Peeks for the November Release at Taylored Expressions. I got to play along as a guest today and I'm so delighted to get to show off a card I created using the soon-to-be-released Sweet & Simple Alpha dies!

It was recently my son's big sixth birthday and I always try to make him a special card each year. He's starting to read on his own and so I wanted to make something simple that he could take pleasure out of reading himself. I took the fun Sweet & Simple Alpha Upper and Lower, as well as the Sweet & Simple #'s and die cut some fun patterned paper. I used the negative space and popped up the panel using some foam squares (making sure to include the little pieces in some of the letters!) With the addition of some stars and balloons, I had a perfect card for my big little man!

Here's a pic from his big mining birthday party. I did manage to create a geode cake for him...next year, I'm thinking a nice simple cake from the grocery store!
