To Infinity and Beyond!

Hey, hey, crafty friends! I can't wait to share a super fun card I created for Release Day with Taylored Expressions! All things "space" are trendy right now, and I love love love this darling stamp set called Space Cadet with all its little outer space critters!

I wanted to try out coloring with pencils on dark cardstock. I've seen this technique done around the internet and I thought it would be fun...and it was! I used watercolor pencils as they seemed easier to blend on the dark cardstock. I started by embossing with some white pearl embossing power, which stood out beautifully and helped me keep the details of the stamped images. The cool background is the new Twinkle Twinkle Background, which I stamped and embossed with platinum embossing powder for a nice shine.

I wanted to make a spinner card and discovered that I could use the 'hoop' portion of the Embroidery Hoop die, which also gave me a built-in stopper. I decided on the cute puppy to orbit my embossed sentiment. My son absolutely loved this card and enjoyed playing with the spinner.

I added a Pinhole Star Stacklet star die-cut from Metallic cardstock. This card was a blast to create and I can't wait to make more cards that are outta this world!

Taylored Expressions Release Day: I Only Have Eye for YOU!

It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions! I am so excited today because I got to grab a few moments over the last week to play with some new release products and I'm featuring the new Sack It - Monster dies! For my project, I decided to make a pair of "his" and "her" cards.

I die-cut all the pieces I would need for the cute monsters using card stock and patterned paper. I decided to leave the horns off my "boy" monster and give him just one sweet tooth. I love how happy he looks! For both cards, I used a sentiment from Love Monsters that I thought was pretty perfect and put it inside a Say What? Conversation Bubble. Isn't he darling?

Using some red card stock and a white paint pen, I created a fun bow tie using the Mini Mix & Match Bows.

Next up is the little "girl" monster. For her, I left the horns on, specifically so that I could give her a couple of cute bows using the Mini Mix & Match Bows, which are sized just right for her to have a couple of "pig-tails."

She got two teeth!

I hope you enjoyed my project today. Be sure to visit the Baker's Dozen blogs today for some serious eye candy. All new products are now available in the TE Store!

    Wild, Free, & Petrified!

This week, my Imaginisce teammates and I are celebrating the new release of the Outdoor Adventure collection. I've got two fun projects to share, so thanks for dropping in to check them out!
I have been wanting to scrap a fun little trip we took with my son to The Petrified Forrest, one of those strangely fascinating roadside attractions that you always drive by but rarely venture into. So, when I saw the Outdoor Adventure collection, I was really excited!

The woodgrain patterned paper was about as perfect as things could get. I tore the paper into a background element and the colors from the collection are some of my favorites.

The sticker alpha page made creating my title so easy and quick and I was glad to have the chance to scrap one of our family's best memories.

I am always on the lookout for masculine collections because in my little family, it's all about boys with my son and husband outnumbering me! I wanted to create a really fun birthday card for a boy, and when I saw the darling ATVs and motorbikes, I knew they would make for a great interactive card.

I used the Outdoor Adventure ATV Die Cut as my moving element and stamped my sentiment in such a way as it would be revealed when it was moved across the card. The "Wild & Free" Chipboard was the perfect accent to my very "boy" card.

    Endless Summer

My Imaginisce teammates and I are having a ball this week celebrating the new collection, Endless Summer! I have two projects to share today and I hope they have you dreaming of summer sunshine!

It's been such a cold winter for so many of my friends, I was especially glad to see the warm, bright, happy colors in the Endless Summer collection. I thought I would create a card for one of my good friends still weathering the winter in the northeast to help warm her up and get her dreaming about summer.

I adore the darling sun Snag 'Em stamp and thought it would make the perfect focal point for a happy card. I stamped the image twice, once on yellow and again on orange cardstock. To get more dimension, I used foam tape to pop up the smiling face and snipped in between all the rays before bending the solid ones forward. Adding the "sunshine" sentiment stamp and some glitter made the whole thing pop off the patterned paper!

My little rugrat has been learning how to swim and I've been waiting for the perfect collection to use to help me capture his experience. The wave paper from Endless Summer was just the ticket.

I had a great underwater photo as well as one of him earning a ribbon. It was tricky using two such different photos, but I solved my dilemma by placing the swimming photo behind vellum. I also placed some of the patterned wave paper behind vellum as well, which gave the otherwise simple layout some interesting design elements.

I love the chipboard stickers from this collection and the words "Live, Love, Swim" made for a terrific title. For a final accent to the page, I used the one of my i-Top punches to create these little elements, which reminded me of "paddle wheels."

It's Release Day at Taylored Expressions! I was lucky enough to get to play with some of TE's newest dies today, and I have a fun card to share with you.
My little rugrat loves monsters (but only the cute kind) and he also has recently discovered a love for taking photos!
Here is one he took of my husband and I recently:

My little guy is 5, so I thought this was pretty good!
Well, I wanted to make him a special card combining two of his loves. TE just released the Instant Photo Frames and Film Strip Border dies and I had an absolute ball adding little fiends from one of my favorite sets, Love Monsters.

Happy Last Day of April! This week is Release Week for Taylored Expressions and I have a ton of fun projects to share. First up is a card featuring the soon-to-be-released Apple Doodle Ink set, All Aboard and Loads of Fun -- a darling train idea conceived by my teammate, Jen Shults! Also featured is the new Train Track Border Die, my new fave die.

For this card, I stamped and colored the engine and flatcar from All Aboard, colored them in and fussy cut around each.

I filled the flatcar with some of the sweet hearts from Loads of Fun, which comes with a ton of cute cargo for your little train, plus sentiments like the one I used here. I also die-cut the train tracks, using the negative space to let the patterned paper I used show through. My rugrat is a HUGE train fanatic and when he saw this card, he begged to keep it for himself!

My next card features the new set in the Embracing Grace line, Far Out, which is an adorable set with robots and rocket ships! Also on this card are the new Sprockets Dies, which I just love.

I stamped one of the little bots, colored him in and added some stickles on his heart. I love the sentiment, which fit inside my die-cut window.

The Sprockets dies are so perfect for both these new sets and added the perfect amount of dimension.
