TE Calendar Challenge!

It's time for the last Taylored Expressions Calendar Challenge of the year!

I love all of TE's Calendar Products, but I still think my favorite is the Desktop Calendar. These are compact and so quick that they have made great gifts. This month, I used the Snowflake Wreath. It is so pretty and I wanted a "frosty" look.

I stamped the wreath and die-cut it using the Season Wreath Die and trimmed out the darling bow. I stamped the snowflakes with silver metallic ink and added some strips of patterned paper to match.

Remember, you only need to have completed 10 projects in order to qualify for and entry to win the Grand Prize that is worth over $150! Visit HERE for all the details!

Stamps: Snowflake Wreath (Taylored Expressions); Dies: Seasonal Wreath (Taylored Expressions); Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko), Encore Silver Metallic (Tsukineko); Other: Desktop Calendar Landscape Frame (Taylored Expressions); Desktop Calendar Inserts (Taylored Expressions)

I hope you enjoyed my Calendar project today. For more inspiration, check out my teammates' fab blogs!

Tick Tock!...Taylored Expressions Spotlight Day 1

Today is the first Spotlight Day for Release Week with Taylored Expressions and I have a fun project to share with you using the new Petite set, Tick Tock.

When I saw this set, I thought it would make the perfect desk calendar for my husband, who really loves to procrastinate and sleep in. I grabbed a Mini Tear-Off Calendar and paired it with some really cute and bright patterned paper.

I stamped the alarm clock and used the awesome coordinating die to cut it out. The sentiment is perfect for him and I added some Curly Border die springs to really help wake him up.

BEAN NOTES
Stamps: Tick Tock w/coordinating die (Illustrated by Emily Burder for Taylored Expressions); Patterned Paper: 9 to 5 (October Afternoon); Calendar Product: Mini Tear-off Calendar (Taylored Expressions); Coloring Medium: Sketch Markers (Copic); Dies: Curly Border (Taylored Expressions)

I hope you will visit the rest of the Baker's Dozen today to see their spotlight projects. The TE Store is open and you can find Tick Tock in the Fresh Out of the Oven department!

I have been featuring the fun Seasonal Wreaths on my monthly calendar projects, and this month I just HAD to use the Spooky Wreath (which I paired with the coordinating die.)

I added the webs and spiders to the calendar background of my Desktop Calendar Landscape Frame.

The creepy skull is from the set, Toil & Trouble, and I gave him some Tiny Twinkle eyes and a polka-dot tie! Remember, you can jump in at any time to participate, and even back track months if you'd like to participate in the Calendar Challenge. Did you know that if you play along you could win a TE Prize Pack worth over $150? I have been featuring the darling Seasonal Wreaths on my monthly calendar projects, and this month I have one of my favorites: Sunflower Wreath. I used the coordinating Seasonal Wreath die, too!

Sunflowers are one of my absolute favorite flowers. They are so summery and happy and I love seeing them growing on the side of the road. I colored in these beauties on this darling wreath, adding the cute little bee in the center.

    Christmas in July!

Yes, your eyes do not deceive you...it's Christmas in July week at Imaginisce! I got to create some projects with the new Christmas Cheer collection, which was just reveal at at CHA last week and I'm so glad to get to share them with you.

First up is a Countdown Calendar that I created using mostly "B-Sides" of the darling patterned paper. The colors are rich and lovely and helped me to maintain a more "elegant" look.

I made a paper bow from the paper as well, adding a rich red button and some baker's twine.

I know it's July...but I can already hardly wait until Christmas!

Next up is a happy layout that I've been looking forward to making for ages. My little rugrat was terrified of Santa until just last year. He still looks a wee bit anxious in this photo, but he loved being able to meet the big guy in person and whispered all his Christmas wishes. I love the big, happy die-cuts in the collection -- a great way to jazz up a page that features just a single photo!

I free-cut the "snowy hills" and did my journaling by hand along the edge.

After punching out these snowflakes, I added a glitzy Glam Rock with the i-Rock tool for some sparkle.

It was easy to add a bit of twine to the ornament in the die-cut title by simply punching a hole.

    BEAN NOTES
    Countown Calendar
Patterned Paper: Christmas Cheer collection (Imaginisce); Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah); Fibers: Baker's Twine (The Twinery); Accents: Button (PTI); Stickers: Glitter Alphabet (American Crafts); Digital File: 3-D Box Calendar (Lori Whitlock for Silhouette)

    Merry Christmas Santa Layout
Patterned Paper and Die Cuts: Christmas Cheer collection (Imaginisce); Cardstock: Solar White (Neenah), textured white (American Crafts); Fibers: Baker's Twine (The Twinery); Accents: Glam Rocks (Imaginisce); Tools: i-Rock (Imaginisce); Punches: Snowflake Punch (Martha Stewart)

So, Merry Christmas in July! Be sure to check out my teammates' projects over on the Imaginisce blog today and find out how you can WIN the Christmas Cheer Collection! I hope I inspired you to get into the Christmas spirit...even if it's 80 degrees wherever you are!

    Taylored Expressions June Calendar Challenge!...

Yay! It's time for another Taylored Expressions Calendar Challenge!

It's June -- my favorite month of the year! When I was growing up, I always loved this month because it meant two things: school was out and the last day was usually on my birthday. Now I wish I was still in school!
I have been featuring the darling Seasonal Wreaths on my monthly calendar projects, and this month I have one of my favorites: Strawberry Wreath. I used the coordinating Seasonal Wreath die, too!

When I think of summer, I think of freshly picked strawberries...I tried to color these so that whenever I check the date, I am reminded of lovely summer days (even when it's foggy here in San Francisco!)

Remember, you can jump in at any time to participate, and even back track months if you'd like to participate in the Calendar Challenge. Did you know that if you play along you could win a TE Prize Pack worth over $150? Visit HERE for all the details!

    TE April Calendar Challenge!...

Yay! It's time for another Taylored Expressions Calendar Challenge!

It's April and I have another fun TE Desk Calendar to share with you.
I have been featuring the darling Seasonal Wreaths on my monthly calendar projects, and this month I have one of my favorites: Spring Wreath. I used the coordinating Seasonal Wreath die, too!

I took my colors from some pretty patterned paper, which I used to border the calendar. I then colored with copies, added to adorable bird and eggs, and then glittered it up with some Stickles and dimensional pearls.  Now I have a fun calendar to keep me on track for the rest of this happy month!

Remember, you can jump in at any time to participate, and even back track months if you'd like to participate in the Calendar Challenge. Did you know that if you play along you could win a TE Prize Pack worth over $150? Visit Taylor's blog HERE for all the details!

    Calendar Boy...

With interchangeable photos and a tear-off calendar, this is a gift that will be useful throughout the year.
Thank goodness it's Friday! I have had a crazy week with a sick rugrat and sleepless nights of worry, but now he's all better and I have some wonderful news to share. I have been a huge fan of Lifestyle Crafts (formerly known as QuicKutz) and I was so thrilled to be invited to become an Affiliate of this fabulous company. The best part is that all my readers get to benefit by receiving an exclusive 20% off coupon off purchased made in the LC store!

Enter the code: BEAN for your exclusive savings!
It is going to be such a pleasure sharing with you some projects created with Lifestyle Crafts products, and I wanted to begin with this interchangeable photo calendar that was inspired by the Taylored Expressions Calendar Challenge. I was so in love with this project that I thought I would create a mini tutorial for anyone interested in making one:

A sturdy, precisely cut easel-back makes this perfect for display.
It folds flat, which would make it easy to mail.

I began by die-cutting the pieces to assemble my photo calendar stand from the very cool Card & Photo Easel Die. To make this extra sturdy, I used Craft-A-Board, which is a thin cardboard that runs through die-cutting machines using wafer-thin dies with ease.

You will want to cut two of the panel on the right in order to create the interchangeable photo frame.
After covering one panel with patterned paper, die-cut a frame using the included frame (BEAN TIP: use removable tape to secure your die in your desired spot.)
Punch or die-cut a circle on the second panel. After trimming a photo to your desired shape, secure the two panels together using Scor-tape. Be sure to leave the top of the "pocket" free of glue/adhesive.
Photos can be easily interchanged with the formed "pocket" between the two panels. Adhere the easel back piece after you have finished decorating your front panel.

Print out as many photos as you would like, trimming to fit the pocket. For my project, I also added a fun Mini Tear-Off Calendar from Taylored Expressions. The Card & Photo Easel Die is so versatile that I think I'll be able to create a ton of other display and gift items, such as single- or multiple-photo frames, table toppers, and memo holders.

I hope you enjoyed my first "tutorial" -- I hope to do more in the future. I'm so pleased to be able to offer a discount for readers of TSB.
