Reduce, Reuse, Recycle...

A very sweet commenter here on TSB suggested I check out a new challenge called Everything But the Kitchen Sink -- the focus of this fun challenge features an item found around the house. This month's is to create a card using something received in the mail, which is a great way to put all that junkmail that clogs up our mailboxes to good use. This card made use of a couple things I found in the "to be recycled" bin.

The background text was taken from my husband's BBC Music Magazine (a review of some kind of stereo equipment) and the accent paper was portioned off of a photo from the soprano's feature article. I rescued a postcard from a hair salon that I once frequented, too. I thought the quote from the salon's owners was actually quite lovely ("The world's most beautiful feeling comes from making others feel beautiful about themselves."), and it makes my card perfect for this month's Encouraging Words/Friendship Project Parade. I finished off this redux card with a flourish, a ribbon treatment, and just a little splash of red.
