peace, love, GROOVY...

Okay, so today is my birthday, and I was afraid that I would feel OLD. I moped and sniffled a bit, but then I realized that I'm in the middle of the best years of my life. I have a terrific hubby, a beautiful, exceptional little boy, and friends and family who love me. So, instead of being depressed, I decided to have a little fun.
Moxie Fab World is hosting a challenge: I Want to Ride My Bicycle. I remember the day the training wheels came off my first bike (oh so many years ago!) I wanted to recapture the feeling of that time in my card. First, I die cut this lovely bike and silhouette from two different shades of purple and popped it out over some gorgeously orange and floral designer paper. I then printed out my sentiment in an appropriately named font, "BellBottom," and cut out a waving banner. Once I assembled all the elements on the card base, I rounded the corners and added some rhinestones (what girl doesn't need a little bling on her birthday?) By the time I was done I was feeling at peace, so in love, and more than a little groovy!

By the way, today is the second day of voting in the Gallery Idol 2010 contest! I was lucky enough to have been chosen to be a part of the Top 15 round, so if you are interested in voting, please visit HERE or scroll down and use the voting widget at the end of this post! There is a lot of talent out there, so you won't want to miss the fun of voting for your favorite -- only the top 10 move on to the next round and I (gulp!) hope I'm one of them! Thanks to everyone who has voted for me so far and for all your amazing support and good wishes!

BEAN NOTES: DCWV Posies Glitter Print Designer Paper; Stampin' Up Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant and Pale Plum Card Stock; Computer & Printer (font: Bell Bottom); Clear Rhinestones (generic)
