This week I have the pleasure of being the Pals Paper Arts Featured Artist and today's challenge is an Inspiration Challenge. I love the photo for its colors and very modern look. I decided to take a very literal interpretation of the floral pillow from the photo for my little scrappy hello card.
I have a lot of scraps, and I mean, A LOT. I hate throwing anything away, and so I have mounds of bits and pieces of card stock all over my craft area. I thought this would be a great opportunity to make a card using some of those scraps. For this card, I die cut the cherry blossom with a very cool Embosslit and used the Five-Petal Flower Punch for another flower to mimic those in the photo. For the other elements, I simply free-cut different shapes along the same lines as those pictured. After gluing everything down, I added a simple little rub-on sentiment. Then, for a final touch, I cut away each side of the card (taking care to leave two little tabs at the top so the card could still open and stand up) to emulate a pillow shape. I was left with a bright, trendy card to send to someone just to say 'hello.'
