Today is a very special day for me, as it marks my debut as a Design Team member for the 2 Sketches 4 You sketch challenge. I'm so thrilled to be a part of such an amazing team of talented paper-crafters, and I hope you will join me for some very big fun!
This week's sketch comes from Laura, and it's a terrific one for interpretation. I also got the chance to play with a digi-image, which is rather new for me, and for this card I was inspired by my son's sweet little friend, Bailey, who just turned three. She is a darling girl and I wanted to make her a nice card that my rugrat could give to her.
I began by printing the image out twice in order to add some dimension. I colored in the fairy's wings with Copics, then added some Smooch ink to create an opaque look. The cute fairy was also colored, then cut out and popped out. I also used a bit of glitter pen on her dress to add some subtle sparkle. After trimming all the sketch elements from patterned paper and embossed card stock, I assembled the card, stamping my big sentiment and then adhered a few scattered rhinestones. For one last touch, I pierced around the edges of the main element to create a focal frame. I think Bailey might have a few wishes left and I hope they all come true!
