Another layout for the rugrat's scrapbook, this time focusing on the first time he ever really role-played. I knew I wanted a "super hero"-type of page and began with choosing my title and was inspired by this sketch from the Stretch Your Sketch Challenge over at 2 Peas. I flipped the sketch and removed a photo and moved a couple elements to suit my needs -- that's what "stretching" a sketch is all about!
I used a cartridge for the black silhouette cityscape and then created my own secondary one with the patterned paper with a free font. I used SCAL for the first time with my Cricut, and I have to say, I am in love. I designed all the words and it was great fun playing around with them, though I am still getting the hang of it. For my photographs, I wanted to do something a bit different and (though it is a little hard to see in the picture below) used an iPad App to color splash just my little superhero, fading the background to gray. He looks ready to take on the world with his hand towel cape and Spider-Man glasses!
