Rockin' & Rollin' Birthday...

I love interesting techniques and I was inspired to try one I have never used before with the latest JustRite Friday Challenge: Direct to Rubber. I know the rock and roll is an old technique, but for some reason I never really tried to use it, but I was so pleased by the effect!
I wanted to make a pretty birthday card and stamped this lovely design several times to create a "background" that actually became my foreground. I used my favorite color combo, shades of blue and brown, and punched out the center of each design to create a little window for a paper flower. I left the center one closed for the sentiment, which I colored with markers so that I could get two colors. I added liquid pearls to each design for an elegant birthday card and I now have a new technique to use on projects down the line!
Good Beans Spotlight: Occasionally I spotlight a tool or product that I think is particularly useful. Today I thought I would tell you about some very cool paper, Blending Cardstock. Normally, this thin, smooth paper is terrific for coloring, especially with pens like Copic markers. However, it's also great just for stamping. I used it on this card today because I really wanted to be able to see the results of the rock and roll technique. The ink does not smear on the paper, and it's a bright, crisp white. You can check it out HERE.
