Wishes & Blooms...

Happy Tuesday! This week is a really fun week as Imaginisce has teamed up with Core-dinations for a blog swap and I was lucky enough to get to participate! I made a card and a layout for our swap, and please don't forget to boogy over to the Imaginisce Blog to find out how you can win some pretty awesome prizes!

I don't know about you, but before this swap, I had not yet had the pleasure of using Core-dinations Color Core Cardstocks. If you are like me, you like texture and dimension on your projects and this stuff is pretty darn cool.

First up is a birthday card I created using the WhiteWashed cardstock, paired with an oldie but a goodie from Imaginisce, the Birthday Bash collection.

I ran the cardstock through with an embossing template and sanded the "white washed" side to bring out the color on the raised image.

I also punched a star out of the Core Essentials cardstock and distressed the edges to give it a cool effect. I threaded my ribbon through the center and tied the bow.

Next up is a very bright and happy layout I created to commemorate a day spent at the gorgeous Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. My folks were in town, which is a rare treat, and they had a great time prowling the gardens with the rugrat. I used the darling Hippity Hop collection on this page, which was just perfect for the brilliance of colors in my photographs.

For the "grass" border, I took more of the WhiteWashed Core'dinations cardstock and sanded the edges to bring out the darker shade behind. Then, I fringe cut the paper to create the blades of grass.

Again, I dry embossed the Core Essentials paper with a pretty embossing folder and sanded it to really make the image pop.

I hope you enjoyed my Core-dinations projects today. Don't forget to head over to Imaginisce to win some fun prizes and tune in over there the rest of the week for more amazing inspiration using some really great paper by my terrific teammates! I hope you drop by tomorrow as I will be showing off a party ensemble I created for a wine country wedding! Have a happy bean day!
