Happy first day of July! Today I have the honor and pleasure of sharing a card I made for the 100 Days of Tombow campaign, celebrating one hundred years of Tombow. I do love Tombow products, but when I was contacted by the lovely ladies at the company to participate in their campaign, what sold me was that, through the campaign, Tombow is committed to donating up to $10,000 in arts supplies to the Council for Art Education.
Art has always been a big part of my life. I'm not formally trained, but I have always loved to draw and create art projects. Tombow sent me some of their wonderful products and I chose to work with something I've never used, their Irojiten colored pencils, vol. 4, pale tone.
These pencils are really quite beautiful and a pleasure to work with. I usually use Copic markers, but there was something very textural and pleasing about coloring with pencils.
On my pretty bouquet, I first stamped it twice and then colored in the images. Before trimming the top image, I used a VersaMark pen and clear embossing powder to give the blooms some shine. As the powder solidified, it really brought out the colors and shading.
I thought the sentiment was appropriate -- arts education is so important and art is always something that can make any day bloom with happiness. Thank you, Tombow, for inviting me to participate in your 100 Days of Tombow celebration and congratulations on a centennial of producing fine products!
