Best in the WORLD: Taylored Expressions Release Day!

Hey there, crafty friends! This week is Release Week at Taylored Expressions and I had a chance to create something to help celebrate! Today I'm using some really fun new products that are coming out just in time for Father's Day and I can't wait to share the cool spinner card I made for my hubby.

In the pic above, you can see how if you turn the earth, it spins around to reveal a photo! I'll explain a bit how I created it below:

One of the new dies released this month is called Whole Wide World. Now, this very cool die includes all the pieces to create an actual globe, complete with stand and the darling heart-shaped die you see in the picture above. For this card, I used just the earth portion so that I could make my spinner. I started by creating some very cool background paper using some TE Watercolor Yardstick and some Colorburst. (Now that was super fun and messy!)

I printed out a cute picture of my husband and our little rugrat and die-cut it with the included circle die from the set. I die-cut again with some dark blue cardstock. The trick to making the globe 'spin' is to simply lay a piece of string between the two circles before adhering them together. Then, I simply suspended it within a sandwich of cardstock that I trimmed to size and die-cut a window from using a larger circle die. I hope you can see that I also used the new Lots of Stars Embossing Folder, which I used and then ran through my Big Shot again to flatten out the stars just a little as I wanted it to be very subtle.

I finished off the card with a simple panel of green yardstick and stamped with the perfect sentiment from the new Best in the World stamp set and a few enamel dots!
