Hey There, Cupcake!...

My lovely friend and college roommate, Lori, is celebrating her birthday this month. I thought I'd make her a fun card to let her know I'll be thinking of her. She is full of fun and is the sweetest gal, and I wanted her card to reflect these wonderful traits.

To get me started, I combined this week's Card Positioning Systems sketch with the fabulous colors from this week's Pals Paper Arts Challenge: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise. To begin, I used these darling tiny stamps along the border of my card. I have to admit that I didn't do well the first couple tries...I was having a bad inky day, and so I employed a tried and true trick of the trade when something goes wrong with a card: trim it! Next, I stamped the sweet cupcake and cherry images, colored them in, and then added some glossy accents to the cherry for some shine. I tied a bright bow on my sentiment panel and added three sparkly gemstones for just a teeny bit of bling! Happy Birthday, darling Lori! I miss you tons.
BEAN NOTES: Stampin' Up Itty Bitty Bits, Taylored Expressions For the Love of Cupcakes, and Papertrey Ink Cupcake Celebration (sentiment) Stamps; SU Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry Classic Dye Ink; Copic Sketch Markers; SU Whisper White Card Stock; Taylored Expressions Yellow Card Stock; SU Melon Mambo Grosgrain Ribbon; Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper; Foam Tape
HAPPY BEANS: Hero Arts Gemstones; Ranger Glossy Accents
