Lucky Friend...

We went to visit our family last weekend, and I got to hang out with my fabulous mom-in-law, Susan. She's my crafting buddy and my best girlfriend, and I made this card to show her what a great friend she is and how much I appreciate her. I used the appropriately themed Friendship Blooms from Taylored Expressions for the perfect sentiment and for those darling stamped buttons.

  1. Make card from cardstock.
  2. Trim patterned paper; mat and adhere.
  3. Die-cut frame. Emboss cardstock, trim, and adhere. Cut out armchairs and picture from patterned paper and adhere.
  4. Cut slits in frame; thread ribbon and tie bow. Adhere with foam tape.
  5. Stamp sentiment on cardstock; trim, mat and adhere.
  6. Stamp buttons on cardstock. Pierce holes and draw strings with marker. Punch out and adhere with foam tape.
  • Stamps: Friendship Blooms (Taylored Expressions)
  • Ink: Early Espresso, Pear Pizazz Classic Dye (Stampin' Up!)
  • Patterned Paper: Welcome Home (Doodlebug)
  • Cardstock: Kraft and Lemon Tart (PTI); Petunia and Parakeet textured (Bazzil)
  • Coloring Medium: Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker (SU!)
  • Dies: Classic Rectangle and Big Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
  • Template: Swiss Dots Embossing Folder (ProvoCraft)
  • Fibers: Pink Grosgrain Ribbon (Jo-Ann Fabrics)
